Hello,
Looking for a module to drive a matrix of LEDs arranged as:
5 pins : 6 LEDs
6 pins: 7 to 9 LEDs
7 pin: 10 LEDs
Etc...
This arrangement needs to have an active scan pulling down a row and pull up a column for each lit LED, with a resistor for each row or column.
Is that built-in or does it require an on_loop?
This sounds like a perfect reason for you to go browse through the official Esphome documentation and read the details for each of the drivers IC's for led matrix support so that you can go find what you need!!
This a forum for discussing Esphome related topics and/or asking esphome questions when people need help. What it isnt is an online Mommy where people post components they're looking for along with specific requirements as if its our jobs to go do the same searching through "search boxes" that you should be doing as an adult! If I have to go find stuff for you then we need to have an understanding when it comes to tax season because im gonna need to add you as a dependent so i can at least get some dang money back for the hassle..... ; )
In all seriousness though, if you know what specific requirements you need to have then theres absolutely no reason you cant go look through the documentation of the led matrix driver IC's to find whichever will work for you!
Perhaps I was not clear.
This is not a chipset or pre-built component. It's just an array of LEDs and resistors driven by GPIO pins as outlined.
Here's an example:

You sure told him! Do you feel better Jimmy?
Dang right!! Probly gonna pop in my DVD of Roadhous, grab some lotion and a box of kleenex to celebrate with Patrick Swayze while he's kicking some butt!!
; )
