LG Smart Appliance integration in core HA

Custom integrations are hard to use. For some reason HACS requires having a github. Would be fantastic to have a built-in LG integration.

No they aren’t. But you should ask the author of the custom integration (I assume this one) to add it to core.

But using a custom integration does not require hacs. But there is a good reason for github. Why do I need a GitHub account? | HACS

I’m going to disagree on the ease of use here. The one you link (only one I’m aware of) can either be installed via HACS or requires ssh’ing into my homeassistant to set up (and looks like it probably still requires a github account,)
Ones in the standard add-ons store are pretty straightforward to use.

The owner forgot to mention you can also flat copy the repo using samba addon, which i think is the easiest (just look at some other integrations), no need to use ssh nor typing anything
And as far as I know, you don’t need a github account to pull a clone…

PS: it is not an addon, it is an integration
