LG ThinkQ Integration Sabbath Mode

Would be great to be able to set sabbath mode and not just view it as a read only.

In their app they allow for it to be set remotely so it shouldn’t be too difficult to be done in the integration.

Is there any way to tag the LG ThinkQ Integration person?

Tagging is generally frowned on.

I get that, any recommendations on how to get the feature to them without being frowned on?

Just leave it here and hope it gets voted on and noticed. You could start off by voting yourself.

But, and forgive me for knowing sweet damn all about sabbath mode, but doesn’t the fridge turn itself to sabbath mode without intervention?

Good point, voted.

It is a really niche feature, I doubt it would get a lot of votes unfortunately.

I don’t know of any fridge or oven from any company that gives the option for sabbath mode to happen automatically but that would awesome if it did. They don’t even let it be automated in their apps, unfortunately.

Really, setting it for every Friday evening on a timer and off after Saturday would make a world of a difference (although at times we would need it during the week for holidays, but that’s occasional and not as often).

See here for a cool project

My GE Profile in wall oven has sabbath mode. I can schedule it on the oven itself. The GE Home custom integration exposes the mode as just a switch in HA so I could create an automation in HA to control it as well. As for LG ThinQ, someone would need to dig into the API and see if it is available as more than just a status. The ThinQ integration that I use lives here: GitHub - ollo69/ha-smartthinq-sensors: HomeAssistant custom integration for SmartThinQ LG devices

Indeed GE has the best support for sabbath mode. Alas still not able to be set automatically (can you set it from HA?)

LG API shows sabbath mode as being read only.

I see this being more useful for a Fridge where consistently want every week in sabbath mode.

If the LG API doesn’t allow it, you’ll have to ask LG.

I sent an email, not going my hopes up.
