A component I’m planning on writing would make use of a Python module that’s under GPLv3. I don’t think this poses any kind of license incompatibility with the rest of the project (I think it would be hard to argue that the rest of the code would be a derivative work of this module and component), but it would mean that people distributing Home Assistant along with all of its dependencies would have to be aware of GPLv3 obligations. Is this generally considered acceptable?

The TP-Link SmartPlug module is also GPLv3, so I haven’t seen anyone complain
