Lidl Plug Energy Monitor

Lidl offers a plug for less than €5 which claims to support energy monitoring. SILVERCREST® Stopcontact-tussenstekker | LIDL

It is wifi based.
I ordered a few but I’m curious if the energy monitoring will work in HA since it seems to only support Matter 1.0

Lidl have Vendor ID 4745 in the CSA DCL list and there are two listed smart plugs there, so maybe there will be firmware updates available that way.

Thank you for looking into it. The link you are referring to is not working for me. I think a have the product with product ID 770 the other product is for French market.

Still unknown if energy monitoring will work since it states to run Matter 1.0

It is a good question.
With the wording of the specs it is hard to tell, so buy one and test it and if not then deliver it back with the reason it was not capable of doing what was promised.

Hello Tim,

I bought this model; And it works, sort of… What it does is showing correctly Voltage, Current and Power; but the Energy (Summation for Tuya Zigbee smart plug)
remains at 0. And that is a pity, because that is (for me) the most important information source. I am still trying to understand what is the cause/reason for this [ running ha docker (compose) version, in combination with the matter (beta) docker ]

if you fail solving the energy reading, you can use integral integration to calculate energy from the reported power

Yes, that works, thnx :ok_hand:

Can you explain this?

He meant use HA to calculate the values you want.
Some can be done with the riemann formula (last in the docs here Understanding Home Energy Management - Home Assistant)
Some can be done with a energy meter integration.

correct. And third option is to use PowerCalc custom integration, especially if you plan to benefit from its other features
