Light settings for action in automation

I have only one scene setup for setting the brightness and color temperature for two of my floor lamps:
scene:

• name: Home Theater Intermission
hidden: true
entities:
light.living_room_left:
state: “on”
brightness: 112
transition: 5
color_temp: 369
light.living_room_right:
state: “on”
brightness: 112
transition: 5
color_temp: 369
And the scene is controlled by automation:
automation:

• alias: “Kodi paused/stop”
trigger:
• platform: state
entity_id: media_player.kodi
from: “playing”
action:
service: scene.turn_on
entity_id: scene.home_theater_intermission
• alias: “Kodi playing”
trigger:
• platform: state
entity_id: media_player.kodi
to: “playing”
action:
service: light.turn_off
entity_id: group.living_room_lights
However, I do not want the scene to be shown in the HA frontend. I set the hidden property for scene, but it does not disappear even after a restart. Why is that?

And I’m not sure if I could set the transition time for the group when the state is in playing mode.

You can set the hidden state for the scene at the customize section, under the homeassistant: header

Something like this:

homeassistant:
# here goes the location config...
customize:
- scene.Home_Theater_Intermission:
hidden: true

...

Hope it helps.

I think I came across the Customizing the devices and services (no dash for every device, services, and scenes) section, but there are times when I forget.

I got used to configuring home automation from a file instead of a GUI.

Anyway, thanks for your help.
