I wonder if that’s it… I thought only 4 zones but maybe if this has changed the component might need to be updated to accommodate more zones…
You might be on to something there for your setup. I never bothered setting up my remote in the app or in HA, so I know that wasn’t what got mine all fouled up. Keeping my fingers crossed this solves your issue.
David / Jerry,
Well it looks like the remote selection in the milight mobile app does do something different! I put it back to the first one (default, I guess) and it works again! So it was coincidence that I updated the HA version and changed the remote setting in the app on the same night.
So the downside to this discovery is that the new v6 controllers can have 8 zones which I wanted to take advantage of. I will have to track down the developer of this plugin to see if we can work on this. I was trying to capture network traffic and can only get bits because it is harder to grab data from the wireless mobile apps on the smart phone.
But at least I can resume my testing of what I can do with these lights I am trying to see how fast I can get them to switch colors for a holiday “animation”. They switch very fast via the app, so hopefully I can get something via a HA automation to make cool lighting effects.
I have the V6 bridge too… I just used the first remote they said to use and it only has 4 zones.
Randy/David
I have the V6 bridge as well, but it’s a year or so old, my remote that came with it was only a 4 zone one. Like I said, never used it, my sole ambition was to find something to make it work/ visible to HomeKit.
That’s how I ended up here with HA. Good to know you solved your issue.
Hi Randy,
did you contact the developer of the limitlessled platform and did you get any response?
I have the same problem and I need the 8 zone configuration…
