LocalTuya with CCT LED driver -- should it work / control everything fully?

I’ve been using LocalTuya to control a bunch of Tuya platform devices – has worked brilliantly.

I have one other Tuya based device. It’s actually a Sensio Titan Smart Kinetic CCT driver ([Titan Smart Kinetic CCT Driver (4-pin distribution ports)]), it supports three independent LED channels up to 30W total, each channel controllable for brightness and colour temp. Prior to HA I was controlling the device directly using either the Sensio app or, more latterly, the Smart Life app and again, worked fine.

I’ve tried adding it using LocalTuya but couldn’t see any of the CCT controls (brightness or colour temp), only an on/off control.

Does anyone know whether the LocalTuya integration should be able to fully control the LED controller (all three separate channels, all CCT controls) or whether that device is too niche / specific to be fully supported by LocalTuya?

Either way I’m sticking with LocalTuya for my other devices which work flawlessly.

Thanks in advance

Alastair

I am having the exact same problem as you. Trying to find a work around, will let you know if I get something working.

Its a shame as this solution is really clean and worked OK with Alexa even.

I managed to get something working that is an improvement, if you in the Tuya app create a scene they will appear in the Tuya integration (regular Tuya not the HACS one).

With the Drivers paired to your Tuya app click top right +

Create a Scene>> Launch Tap-to-Run

Create a scene with how you want the lights to be combined and give a unique name this will show in HA (perhaps after a restart).

You can then create a number of scenes Channel 1 on 50% brightness, Channel 2 off etc…

Its not pretty but it works, I tried to get Local Tuya working but it wouldn’t open up any more entities than just on and off.

@Benjiberks thanks for coming back to me.

Tbh since I posted originally and lack of other responses / nothing from the owner of the code, I’m in the process of moving completely off Tuya. My simple switches etc I’ve moved over to Shelly (which is excellent and works perfectly with HA). I’m in the process of replacing the Tuya-based CCT LED driver with a Gledopto Zigbee based driver which will work natively into my ZHA based Zigbee setup. All that leaves me with is one wifi switch (Qinetiq) which is just on/off and works very well with LocalTuya so no need to change anything.

Appreciate the info sorry now I can’t try it out but I burned so much time trying to get it working I just needed to do something different for my sanity!
