Looking for advice: Integrating SIU Dethleffs Connect with Home Assistant

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice and/or experiences from anyone who has tried integrating the SIU (System Information Unit) from Dethleffs Connect with Home Assistant.

The SIU is installed in my Dethleffs caravan and sends data via Bluetooth (such as battery voltage, water levels, gas bottle status, etc.) to the Dethleffs Connect mobile app.

What I would love to achieve:
:white_check_mark: Get this data directly (or via a workaround) into Home Assistant, so I can monitor my caravan systems alongside my other smart home devices.

What I know so far:
• The SIU uses Bluetooth communication.
• There is no public API available from Dethleffs (as far as I can find).
• Possible approaches could include Bluetooth sniffing, reverse engineering the app, or finding someone who has already mapped the Bluetooth characteristics.

What I’m asking for:
• Has anyone already tried this or succeeded in integrating it?
• Are there existing custom components, BLE integrations, or scripts available?
• Any tips on where to start with sniffing the BLE traffic between the SIU and the app?
• Would a Nordic nRF Sniffer or Ubertooth One be necessary, or can I manage with a standard Bluetooth adapter and software like Wireshark?

Any help, pointers, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
