Looking for an easy-fit single channel energy monitor

Hi all.

I’m looking for a easy to fit single channel energy monitor for whole-house monitoring with a clamp-on CT

Needs to be local connection so no cloud stuff, i’ve been searching but its a bit of a minefield it seems with some needing hubs or apps etc to integrate

Thanks in advance

An energy monitor device must measure voltage of the source, so it should never need a battery.
I use one that zemismart sells. There have posts here about it, search that out.

Thanks, I realise that now, my bad.

I have edited the title and my original question to suit.

Heres the post.

Thanks, it looks good but I’ll need a clamp-on CT really.

I’ll keep looking…

Yes Google is Your best choice, as your can “narrow it down” to your Region/country, there are a bunch out there, i would go for an easy Wifi Solution

It seems the shelley EM is good but does not fit on standard 25mm UK meter tails which seems a bit pointless.

I can’t find any that do a cable bigger than 10mm dia so maybe this is going to be harder than i thought :frowning:

It looks like the SONOFF POW/CT is the only model out there with a decent size clamp CT (16mm) it’s a good price too.

However I am unsure of the HA integration - it uses the ewelink app natively but is a WiFi unit.

There is the SonoffLan HACS add-on which does seem to support it in a local connection, so thats a start I guess.

I might try one.

Is a Hildebrand Glow CAD linked to your smart meter (if you have one) also an option for you?

They are expensive at £70 but I’ve just gone through the process of setting one up and have discussed isolating it from the internet with their support. Tldr; you won’t get firmware updates and they won’t be able to support it while it is isolated, but it will still happily talk to HA. It’s also got a nice time based display which looks useful, and I’ve not explored the features yet. Anyway, feel free to ask if it’s of interest.

Hi,

I have 2 times in my house the EM06 from refoss. Working fine for more than a year now.

There is a new version of it that fits maybe your needs:

I’ve got the SonOff Pow/Ct fitted and it works a treat, seems very accurate and was easy to integrate into HA.

It’s a neat little unit but more imprtantly has a CT that goes to 16mm I think, much bigger than most others that only take 10mm cables, this made it easy to clamp over a regular 25mm UK meter tail.
