I installed Lovelace on my Home Assistant Green. I made sure to install all the required resources and browser mod. But the dashboards that auto-populate seem to be broken. I imagine it should look like an actual dashboard and not a bunch of text boxes… Any ideas on how to fix?
Lovelace was the previous name for the Home Assistant frontend dashboard project. You can’t “Install” it. The dashboard frontend comes with Home Assistant.
So what did you actually install?
That’s UI Minimalist so HACs has to be installed
Additional info from the OP is required.
Yes apologies, it’s UI Minimalist. I installed HACS, then installed UI Minimalist from HACS, and downloaded all of the below with HACS as well.

Your UI Minimalist dashboard is working! The default setup is appearing in your attached image. You need to walk back through the install instructions again.
Can I ask, what aspects of this Theme you feel the standard Dashboard can’t provide?
I inquire because this mod is seeking folks to keep it alive.

Okay that makes sense thank you! In the instructions when it said “To get this theme with all the button templates working make sure at least the generated Lovelace Dashboard is working.” I just assumed that meant the page with just text boxes wasn’t working, but I see now that means I can move on to the next step.
Unfortunately, I’ve hit another road block I can’t figure out where my ui-lovelace.yaml file or my configuration.yaml for frontend settings is… Since I’m on Home Assistant Green, I don’t have actual file access I believe. I think normally to access the YAML for the dashboards, I click the dots menu on the dashboard and select “Raw Configuration Editor”. However, when I try to do that on the Lovelace ones it tells me “The edit UI is not available when in YAML mode.” And I couldn’t find anything for front end configuration. So then how do I get to the YAML editor? I’m finding HA Green to be a bit troublesome as most instructions I find are for a more traditional PC.
As for why, I like having more control over the cards formatting. I don’t like the size and spacing of the default ones. Additionally, I was annoyed that I seemingly can’t change the color of the icon when an entity is off and saw some people saying that you can do that if you use UI Minimalist with expanded CSS for cards. I don’t think I would be a good fit as a maintainer, as I am brand new to Home Assistant and not very experienced with coding in general. I hope the project can find some folks!
I think I figured it out I just needed to install the File Editor add on.
