Lovelace UI - Default to compact header

Would it be possible to adopt the compact view of the Custom Header component as the default view for Lovelace? The header has a redundant “title” element displayed at the top that just needlessly takes up space. It’s the same title displayed at the top left above the hamburger icon.

See the example below for a mobile view of the compact setting.

I’ve been running Custom Header in compact mode since I started using HASS, so I’ve never really noticed how the header didn’t make sense until 0.110.0, which doesn’t work with Custom Header yet. Having to look at the standard header made me ask myself why the compact view isn’t the default already.

Hi, I am looking for a way to remove the header completely so I landed on your thread: you can replace the title with a space so it becomes smaller.

Now that custom header is dead, this needs more votes and needs to be a native option.

100%. I really hope this is made a priority.

Got one vote more! If it’s by default or not doesn’t matter to me, but at least there should be the option to have just a “single row header”.

I was thinking about how to configure such a setting. As the heaser is also the place to access the edit mode I think it isn’t really an option to configure it there.

Maybe in the personal settings like the side menu and then for all dashboards at once.

Any other thoughts?

Looks like it’s already in the making
