Lunos Ventilation Fan - ESPHome

Hi i have been following these treads for a bit and trying to figure out if i can do the same with my model, but i looks like there are no 10v connector and no switch to controll it, am i missing something ? Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Hi
You’re not missing anything. It’s an older version that doesn’t have that possibility unfortunately.

I’ve updated my implementation and created an external component since the custom component feature was removed from ESPHome a while ago.

Hi haavhaal, I have a RA 15-60 Fan.
This Fan has 3 pins, red, blue and purple.
I’m wondering if I can test the fan just by connecting a 12v dc to red and blue to get the fan running in full speed. But unfortunately the fan will not spin at all.

What is the purple Pin for, Tacho RPM or PWM?
Do I have to set the purple pin to High signal aswell?

Many thanks for your input,

Hans

Hi Hans

You are correct. RA 15-60 is indeed a 12VDC fan and it sounds logical that it would start at full speed with just red and blue connected. However, the fan is controlled by 0-10V signal (purple) which means that the manufacturer can decide what the fan will do if it doesn’t have a control signal. For the RA 15-60 Lunos has decided that they don’t want the fan to be active if the 0-10V signal is disturbed.
e2 series will do the exact opposite, they will operate at max level with no control signal.
So, you need to connect all three cables in order to make the RA 15-60 work. Do you have a Lunos controller? UNI or SC?

Hi @haavhaal , many thanks for your reply!
0-10V is a quite useful information, as there is no much I could found about the fan specs. Sure 0-10V is the signal range you can supply to 5/UNI-FT to control the fan, but what will be released from the controller to the fan, no clue

I have started a new thread where I put all my infos and configurations as I don’t want to mess this topic as it is more about Lunos fans with controller and I would like to avoid the controller at all.

I would appreciate if you leave a comment there

Cheers, Hans
