My home has a mixture of Lutron Caseta and Phillips Hue bulbs. I am trying to build out an automation for a ‘night mode’ where my lights are capped at a certain percentage when a user interacts with the hardware on the wall. I have a ton of ‘dumb bulbs’ that live in my hallway, kitchen, and dining area that are powered by Caseta.
I have tried setting the brightness manually when the switches are toggled, I get weird behavior where the light goes to 100% and then down to the desired brightness after a second or two. Then I moved to a light template but the same behavior is exhibited. After some reading, I am wondering if this is even possible with the Caseta hardware.
A) is it possible to set a “Max Brightness” in HA where lights will be limited to a certain brightness level depending on which automations are active.
B) If not, is there hardware out there that does what I am wanting for dumb bulbs? I don’t want to go out and buy a ton of Hue bulbs when I don’t really need all the extras that they provide for these rooms.
