M5Stack Atom Lite reliability

Hi,

I have a number of bluetooth proxies around my house, alll running on M5Stack Atom Lites, with Bermuda for presence sensing. It mostly works great - dashboards reconfiguring depending on which room I’m in etc.

But every single day at least one of the bluetooth proxies drops out and I have to restart it. This is becoming very annoying.

Has anyone else had such problems, or does it sound like there’s something wrong with my setup?

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem with these devices. I switched to the M5Stack S3s and they have worked great for Bermuda.

The other thing I did to help Bermuda is to ensure that the S3s used for Bermuda are not also used for active Bluetooth connections. I found that when the device is servicing the active connections, it won’t do the tracking for Bermuda. I have a few other devices configured for active BT connections and I’ve configured Bermuda to ignore them.

Thanks, I may try the S3s. By complete coincidence, a firmware update was released just after I posted earlier so fingers crossed it may improve reliability.

Bluetooth, WiFi, Bermuda. Maybe crash due to low memory?

Latest esphome version use less memory so maybe that helps. Pretty sure you need to switch from arduino to esp-idf but not sure.

Quick update: since applying that firmware patch none of my proxies have dropped out.
