Mac Install - Apple Container

Hi Community. I am new to Home Assistant but want to set this up on the Mac to do local AI integration with a Mac Mini and apple silicon. As that is one of our best cost effective options today for some AI.

Has anyone started work on an Apple Container implementation?

Do many users run HA on a Mac? Am I asking for troubles here? I have a long history of writing software so am happy to start this as well. But would also like input if it makes sense to use a Mac?

I don’t run HA in a container but I do run it as a VM on a Mac. It’s perfectly stable. No difference from when I was running it on Proxmox

Ditto. I run HA in a headless VMware Fusion 26H1 VM on macOS 26.5.2 on an M4 mini. The HA VM allocation is 2 CPUs, 4GB RAM and 32GB disk for 157 devices and 998 entities with 24 integrations and 8 apps. The performance has been flawless.
