I am a beginner on a steep learning curve. Using a Raspberry Pi 4 ,Raspberry Imager and micro SD card Ive obtained my HA IP address from the Pi. Then with the Pi energised, card inserted and hard wired to my router , Ive entered http://192.168.1.192:8123 into my Mac browser expecting to go to the HA Welcome page, its a no go , output displays numerous options such as Home Assistant Community link etc. Have tried http:// homeassistant.local:8123. Failure again…..Ive tried hard wiring my Mac to router …no success.
So could someone give me simple guidance please . Tony
Hi Tony, welcome to the forum!
Are you sure about that IP address and is your mac on the same network (physical and logical) as your HA system?
Make sure that your browser doesn’t switch to httpS instead of http
Can’t you hook up a monitor to your RPi?
Did you install HAOS?
Is it only on MacOS but OK with Windows / Linux / Android phones on the same LAN?
If had this before (last year? 2 years ago?), and had to go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network and if you toggle each app off and back on, access to the LAN will remain functional until you reboot/logoff.
Could not recall whether Apple fixed the thing or not. I do not have my MacBook any more.
BUT, you didn’t provide enough information so the best the other people here is to guess.
So what are those exactly?
