Making a custom card respond to tap?

I have the HACS custom:digital-clock card as the top element on my display panels with no sidebar or header (running Fully Kiosk Browser). I sometimes need to reload the page if my CCTV feed doesn’t load or stops working etc. I don’t want to use the FKB swipe to refresh as that interferes with maps and other cards.

So I was trying to add a tap_action to the clock card to use that as a trigger to call the button.press service and press the URL reload button in FKB. Unfortunately the clock card doesn’t seen to support tap actions.

Is there a way to do this or wrap the clock card in something else, without affecting the formatting/style but enable tap_action to do what I want? An overlay or other wrapper maybe?

Thanks.

Hi @pgale,

I’m running in a similar problem, do you already have a solution for this? I also want to do something (tap_action) when tapping on the clock

I went with a separate button in the end.

With the custom button card, you can also stack multiple buttons within one, so that might be an alternative although a lot more work and a fairly steep learning curve with custom button card if you’ve not used it. You should be able to get whatever layout you need with a bit of work.
