I am looking at buying an inverter to store electricity in batteries and one of the goals is to manage that from Home Assistant. The reason is that I do not want to be dependend on any cloud services, it needs to be working without internet.
For most inverters I only can find integrations that read from the inverter but cannot change settings.
Does anyone do that? do you have examples of how you do that?
What inverters are capable of doing that.
Most of existing integrations are capable of controlling inverter - setting parameters such as mode (charging/ discharging / standby…), output power etc.
This should be sufficient to manage energy flows, to store or dump energy.
Other inverter settings, such as protection, system configuration and other settings are typically managed via local (or cloud) web interface of the inverter.
