Manually install monthly updates

I am currently running HA Core 2024.11.3 and the latest is 2025.11.3 - I am also on HAOS 14.1 with the latest being 15.2. Unfortunately I don’t think about HA much since I don’t have any issues, but I would like to get current.

Last time I did manual updates was about a year ago and I have since forgotten the steps. My system is running HAOS on a NUC. Can someone explain, in detail, what steps I need to take to update one release at a time? I don’t want to just jump 12 versions at once.

Any help is appreciated

read all breaking changes (nonbackwards incompatible) per release and do

for each version and fix the breaking stuff per release

Or this.

  • Supervisor 2025.11.5
  • Operating System 16.3

Tomorrow it will be 2025.12.0…

If you just click the update notification once in a while it would do this for you. If you have a simple HA configuration, the breaking changes are few and far between and are big news while they are happening here in the Forum. If you wait a year to update, it will break every time and most people won’t remember what that change was 6 months ago to cause that problem.
