How do I remove the map that started showing up in the default Overview dashboard after upgrading to 2026.4?
That just edits the sidebar, no?
In the Overview dashboard, a map (OpenStreetMap) is displayed along with my other items. I never enabled it. I don’t use any location services so I’d like to remove it from the dashboard.
I realize finally that I had 2 Overview dashboards. My guess is at some point the Overview that I used for years (and was my default) stopped being managed automatically and became user defined. Then the built in Overview showed up.
It still doesn’t explain why I now have a Map in my (now) user defined Overview. That will remain mystery, but that’s fine.
Sounds like the best solution is to finally just rebuild my HA. Almost all of my devices are either Z-Wave or MQTT, so it should be an easy start.
just delete the map in settings → dashboards, or uncheck show in sidebar.
As for “why did it show up”, no idea, it was made default years ago and 2026.4 shouldn’t have changed anything.
It’s not the map dashboard. It’s a map in my old default Overview.
Let’s not spend anymore time on this ![]()
I already started fresh, and all Z-Wave and MQTT devices already showing up. Easy. Good weekend project to take a new look at all the new features I’ve missed these years!
