Matter devices not adding to Preferred Network (Eero vs Homepod)

Hi guys. Newbie here, just starting out in HA. I’ve searched around, and not finding an answer, so here it is :slight_smile:

I have 2 thread networks apparently. My Eero routers are broadcasting one network and a HomePod + Aqara M3 is broadcasting a separate thread network.

I designated Eero network to be the “Preferred Network,” And sent credentials to phone (see picture)

I then added a Matter over Thread device (Zemismart Blind Motor) without difficulty which is working fine. This device got added to my Apple HomePod network.

How do I get the new devices to use the Eero network? Is there something else I need to do in addition to designing it as the preferred network?

Once you have set the preferred network in HA you need to copy the credentials to the companion app on your phone.
Open the companion app, then open the settings menu followed by the thread menu.
In the bottom of the screen there should be a big button to copy/sync the credentials to the phone.
