I’m using the “Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub” Integration, works fine so far. Actually, Matter Hub only support sensors for temperature and humidity. Is there a way or work around, that I can also ask Alexa to give me the value of another sensor? I would like to ask for the daily photovoltaics production (value in kWh - sensor.pv_production_per_day
Thats an Alexa side issue - they (Amazon) currently (as of 2025) only support the sensors attached to a room on their side. (Such as those environment sensors) Theres nothing HA will be able to do to change that. But if they did I’m sure HA wouldnt be the limiting factor
I can’t speak for Google. I don’t have G hooked up to HA and I’m actively trying to fire Alexa… But at the end of the day is you’re asking for unfettered random sensor access to the entities… Through a pipe and a filter.
I was going to sarcastically add in my previous response if you want that, then you probably want HA voice… But if you’re open to it with an LLM leashed to it and the right fit work if you’re up to it… (my example is highly custom with custom tools behind it)
Sure, my current daily driver is ChatGPT 4.o mini through the API, (paid version, with the switch set enforcing no use of my data)
Long term plan includes a local ollama installation, fronted by open-webui, connected to OpenRouter so I’ll have flexibility on both run location and model.
