I’ve been struggling with Matterbridge for some time, and found it really difficult to get some basic switches into Google Home. It seems really fussy about devices with different entities etc.
I’ve just been testing “Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub” (Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub - Home-Assistant-Matter-Hub) - which is better in this regard.
My question is - do both of these rely on my Google Home Audio speakers being online for it to work? My understanding is this physical device acts as a hub / controller to send out the messages to the devices.
I’d like to remove this dependency, if possible. Is there a software based alternative to this?
As even when it’s working, it’s a bit flakey - with devices randomly showing as offline in my phone etc.
