Matter Server logs disappearing too quickly, even with low verbosity

I’m finding that my Matter Server log (System → Logs → Matter Server) is not displaying entries more than about 90 minutes old, no matter how few log entries there are. For example, I might get three log entries at 13:42 and 5 more at 14:02. At around 90 minutes later, the three entries from 13:42 disappear. Then 20 minutes later, the rest disappear. The results is that most of the time that I try to view the logs I see “No errors have been reported.” This makes it difficult for me to troubleshoot when I can’t go back very far in the logs.

Does anyone know what might be causing this or how I can make adjustments to how long logs are available for viewing?

thanks,

Tony

Is no one else having this issue? Any ideas of a fix?

I’m not using Matter myself (yet) but I suspect it has something to do with the change in log entries from HA no longer being written to a logfile in the /config directory.

I see the same behavior in my HA instance.
Maybe file a bug/issue on Github?

Thanks for the reply. The problem started in September, I think. Maybe Oct. Don’t know when they made the log change.

My experience with posting bugs on GitHub isn’t great so far. The issues languish and then get marked as stale despite my pleas to keep the issue open. But i went ahead and submitted a bug report anyway.
