Hi, I’m a total noob with Matter never used it before, when I tiy to add Matter
with add I get ws://localhost:5580/ws``
Then failed to connect, I tried adding the actual address instead of localhost, as HA 2026.6 is running in docker on an Odroid N2.
Googling say its as the Matter server is not running, and on some blogs a few months old there is the setup for adding a Matter sever in a separate docker container,
I know my version is only slightly out of date, but before updating to 2026.8, I’d prefer to wait for the bugs to be fixed, seems to be quite a few.
If I set up Matter in a separate docker container , will it automatically link to HA.
Not sure what I’m doing , and could do with some help please .
Let’s start with what method did you install HA.
Is it Haos or are you using container. (you said ANOTHER container?)

HA was installed in Docker in its own container, as per the install instructions. I was refering to the blogs on installing Matter in another container, as It seems a well known problem when using Matter with HA

Hi I did come across that , but its not clear , at least to me, which is the working docker config
the matter version:stable or the named version ..
can you clarify.. It would help on a thread to say at the end the config that works.
I don’t know I’m a haos user. It just works over on that side.
You will have to read through that thread. Although it is one of the few I’ve seen with a guide and users reporting successes. I’d probably start with that link to the guide they posted in post 2.
Unfortunately docker + matter is very less common than typical so you’re going to have to do some research. Sorry.
OK thanks, I’ll try that link . I did look at HAOS , but couldnt see if it would allow other applications as well, as I also use Motion with a few cams , But I have a spare Odroid C4, so could try on that.
