Maxi Cosi (See Pro) Baby Monitor camera integration

I would like to see an integration for Maxi Cosi baby monitors. As also discussed here: Maxi Cosi Integration.

Specifically the two different systems:

  • MaxiCosi See Pro Baby Monitor (usb-c variant with external display and only Google Assistant integration)
  • MaxiCosi Baby Monitor (micro-usb variant without external display and full Google Home integration incl. camera view)

Both have a stream and controls visible in the Maxi Cosi mobile phone app.

Ok, nailed it. Both camera work.

  • Install the Tuya app and make an account.
  • Put the camera in Pairing mode with the long pin in the hole under the camera, when blinking fast click add device in Tuya app
  • It will not auto detect. Click under Manually on (it seems any option that has) BLE+WiFi in the name.
  • Click through the steps.
  • It should detect. You may need to try a few times for it to work.
  • In the Tuya app you will get an 99999 Loading Failed error. Ignore that.
  • In the Tuya app click Me and than the most right top Hexacon icon next to the barcode icon. Click account and security and write down your user code.
  • Open Home Assistant an add the Tuya integration and add the user code.
  • Now in the Tuya app on the Me page click the Barcode scan icon and scan the QR code in Home Assistant.
  • Click Submit in Home Assistant

Device now appears with camera stream and some more options like motion tracking. But I did not see controls yet for moving the camera up and down.

Does this method still works, can anyone chime in?
I tried different types of sensors in Tuya app while the camera in blinking red(in pairing mode) and tuya never finds it :frowning:

Hi, I successfully connected today. To pair the camera, you need to set Cam in pair mode, initiate a manual connection by choose a cameratype that generates a Wi-Fi QR code during setup, then hold that QR code in front of the camera to complete the pairing. I used the Tuya app for this process.

Do you have any idea how I can access the recordings on the camera or control its movement? I can’t find any options for this in either the Tuya app or Home Assistant.

I would love to be able to see the camera in Home Assistant for myself, but keep it on the Maxi-Cosi monitor and app for my partner. Judging from the information above, the Maxi-Cosi See (Pro) is a slightly modified Tuya white-label device. If there’s a way to fetch the device key, we can probably use the camera in Home Assistant through LocalTuya while keeping it connected to Maxi-Cosi.

Either way, controlling PTZ movements can often be fixed using LocalTuya when official Tuya doesn’t support it out of the box. I haven’t tried this because I am not allowed to remove the camera from the Maxi-Cosi app. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Just thought it may be worth checking out for some of you without such wife factor restrictions.
