MI 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro - how to integrate into HA

Dear All,

I have a MI 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro (Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro | Xiaomi Deutschland | Alle Spezifikationen und Funktionen), which I planned to integrate into HA after that via HomeKit Bridge to Apple HOME.

I thought it is accessible from the Add Integration interface, (i have a MI nightlife, that is available  ) but it is not. I read other forums where people had issues with “old” MI cameras, integrations, delays later on stream, etc… but they were 2018-2023 years…

I would like to know if anyone has same camera like mine and was able to add into HA?

Is there a generic way to add MI cameras into HA?

Last but not least as time passed and items got better, is it worth to spend time on an old device or just simply buy one which has better integration to HA and not this “hard way” method?

Many thanks for the answer!

I was managed to install xiaomi miot (GitHub - al-one/hass-xiaomi-miot: Automatic integrate all Xiaomi devices to HomeAssistant via miot-spec, support Wi-Fi, BLE, ZigBee devices. 小米米家智能家居设备接入Hass集成 · GitHub) via method 4. It recognised the camera and all buttons as controls works well. However the Camera Control in the sensor area is unavailable. No streams / pictures.

Does anyone knows what I am missing still ?

Many thanks !

I don’t have a Xiaomi camera, but have you see the FAQ about cameras?

And the issue linked under customize entity

camera.your_entity_id:
  video_attribute: 1 # https://github.com/al-one/hass-xiaomi-miot/issues/11#issuecomment-773054167
keep_streaming: true # Continuously update stream address

including

enable the Home surveillance assistant in the Mihome APP, and then use another camera entity camera.chuangmi_ipc016_xxxx_motion_event under the device.

Then there’s also the ha_xiaomi_home integration to try instead

Sorry for the late reply. Many thanks for the hint, somehow after an overnight run it worked… With the camera and HA i am seeing these problems now, but I can live with it. I tested the customize entity section, however I am running Pi4 and I read in advance that this could blew up the CPU/mem/etc… it kind of did, so I removed those extra lines. Now I have a lag, but it is OK for me as I have picture and the camera still operates within its own APP/enviroment. If detailed screen/move/ setup needed, I will do it via the APP.

However for HA the basic snapshot screen is OK, and it is also shared with Apple Home, so I am happy
