So i wanted to use my calender with home assistent, i used this video to do it:
Now i get this error after following every step:
Error Message: Access is denied. Check credentials and try again.
We need (a LOT) more info.
Access denied is a permission issue which means you’re connecting… And being rejected. Almost always it’s the security prerequisites it is admittedly complicated but it works. (I’m a former AD and Exchange engineer and still it took me three times the first time I set this integration up… All of my issues were missing delegated permissions in Entra)
And thanks for the instructions you followed we won’t be using them
Instead let’s use Roger’s instructions from his site.
Starting here - the Prerequisites for the integration.
Pefore we start please read every item on that page and make sure you can put a checkbox - yes you did that mext to every item in the list.
Especially the first item copied here…
Note - Personal accounts
Since the middle of 2024, Microsoft has mandated that any new app registrations must be created within an Entra ID directory. You will need to sign up for Azure on a pay as you go basis, where Microsoft Entra ID is indicated as always being free.
So my first question - Entra ID or personal MS365 account? If it’s not Entra (read: personal not Azure) stop here it’s not available.
Ignore the video. Use the list. The video may be missing information or wrong (common with fast moving HA integrations like the Ms365 integration as compared to YouTube second hand info.)
So how’s your prerequisites
If you have a M365 tenant with Entra IDs or you’ve manually setup Entra like Roger’s instructions AND they’re ALL confirmed done then Installation and Configuration | O365 Home Assistant
Run the checklist and let us know where you are.
Not broken m you registered the app so that’s a good start. (also sorry my Dutch sucks so I may misread some)
Click Home Assistant.
Now check that app against the prerequisites one item at a time.
on the app’s Overview page, tell me what it says for Supported account types. DO NOT post your Client ID or any secrets.
Then…
Authentication / Redirect URI
Certificates & secrets
API permissions
The type of error I have a suspicion of number three but do them all in order first.
