I just installed a Pioneer Wi-Fi enabled thermostat (made by Midea) and have it successfully connected to HA via the Midea AC LAN integration.
The issue I’m running into is I don’t allow wi-fi devices to have internet access. Unfortunately, this thermostat doesn’t appear to like this, as it will disconnect and reconnect to wi-fi constantly until I restore the internet connection.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a solution that allows the device to be stable but not have an active internet connection?
Some additional details are that it’s reaching out to module-us.msmartlife.net on port 28443. I tried pointing the domain to my laptop running socat, and can get a successful connection, but that’s not enough, as it seems to be expecting a proper payload back from midea :-/
