Migrate Zigbee2MQTT Ember to Zstack - not working

I recently bought a SMLight SLZB-MR1. This ethernet adapter has two modules:

  • ERF32MG21 (Ember)
  • CC2652P7 (Zstack)

My idea is to use one module for ZHA and one for Zigbee2MQTT. Somehow I have in my mind that Ember is for ZHA and Zstack for Zigbee2MQTT. But, I cannot get Zigbee2MQTT to connect using Zstack.

I eventually also tried Ember, and then it works, although some devices do not respond or very poorly.

I can’t find anything on not getting Zstack to work. The configurtion page on the SLZB-MR1 suggests it should work on both modules.

Any help or guidance is very much appreciated.

Have you set different ports and serial speeds based on the different chips?

I am running a MR2, but our setups should be similar…

Hey.

I did not set anything. All default. One module is for ZHA, the other for Z2M.

And miraculously, at some point, it worked. I really don’t know what I did or what changed. But Zigbee2MQTT at some point had a connection. Only downside was that all devices were gone and needed to be paired again. But there were only four devices, so manageable.

After, I migrated ZHA. That seemed to work, but at some point the entire ZHA integration was gone! I was able to get it back to work with most devices coming back on their own using a backup I made before. Fingers crossed that the rest gets back as well.

@LiQuid_cOOled, did you do a migration with the SLZB-MR1 or a complete new installation?
