Migrating from VeraLite to HA with Z-Stick Gen 5

I’ve been using my previous VeraLite for my Z-Wave controller for many years now. When I setup HA (hassio on a Pi 3B), I just used the Vera integration. The VeraLite is no longer supported and they’ve offered me a special price on upgrading, but I see no purpose in that since I’m not using any other feature of Vera anymore. I purchased a Z-Stick Gen 5 and it should be arriving in the next couple days.

I’m wondering if anyone knows an easy way of migrating besides excluding all devices from the Vera and including them with the stick. Some people have talked about making the stick a secondary controller in Vera, then moving it to primary later. I’m not sure how that all works with HA. Vera is the only Z-wave controller I’ve ever had. Would I make the stick a secondary controller when it’s being setup in HA the first time? Or is there some other way?

Anyone have any success with this in the past?

Have you find a way of migrating your ZWave devices from VERA to a Z-Stick ?

I’m looking to do pretty much the same thing and looking for some info.
