Migration from ConbeeII/Deconz to SkyConnect/Zigbee2MQTT?

Team,

The time has come and I will finally migrate from

  • From: Conbee II stick with Deconz
  • To: SkyConnect stick with Zigbee2MQTT

There are 60 device that need to be migrated. (involved in 275 automations/scripts and lovelace)

My main question is: can I somehow migrate from ConbeeII with Deconz to SkyConnect with Zigbee2MQTT keeping:
- Entity_IDs (and therefore Automation/script/Lovelace settings)
- History (short and long-term)

Maybe these steps would help to keep automations/scripts/lovelace/history?

  1. Remove devices as created by Deconz
  2. Reset and Pair device with SkyConnect
  3. Rename device to have the old name as used in step 1

Or can I only save the Lovelace UI by giving them their old name/entity_id?

I don’t mind doing anything manually and I don’t care about Zigbee registrations or networks. If needed I will manually reconfigure every single device as long as I can keep the items above.

BTW, after the migration I will document and share my findings.

Cheers!
DJ

I’ve figured out a way that requires a bit more work but saves most of the automations & scripts + the entity history. It will be documented and shared.

@duittenb Dirk, I’m looking forward to it. While Deconz works fine, I’m getting frustrated with the lack of updates for new device support. My plan was to just add another (third) Zigbee radio and slowly move devices over one at a time.

Thanks!
