Migration to newer zwave stick not going well

I have an old zwave 500 stick I am finally replacing with a zstick 10 pro with an 800 chip. I imported the backup into it but it throws an error and shows everything and numbered nodes that never wake up and do anything so I’m just going to just nuke them all and start over.

the zwave switches/dimmers, including a zw3005, and a combo fire and CO detector are refusing to fully reset and exclude themselves. the basement zcombo is a newer model thats fairly cooperative but the living room is just refusing to join anything. the dimmer I tried power cycling and the rapid 3 top 3 bottom taps but it just will not reset.

Is there an incantation to making these old zwave devices shut up and reset?

Don’t hold back. Tell us what it is.

Battery devices?
Remove/reinsert battery. Does that help?
Look at zwavejs logs. Will tell you what is or is not happening.

This seems unnecessary
If you put the old stock back what happens?

the old stick was wonky and replaced because it didn’t cooperate with being in a VM. I can try and build it back into the VM all over again after work if I have to.

the throws a error thing I fixed by completely removing zwaveJS and reinstalling it. the numbered nodes are composed of wired and battery devices. waking them up changes nothing

nothing want to talk to this new stick. it cant even identify nodes.

My theory is the old stick has a battery in it and they are still communicating with the old stick so they won’t talk to the new stick.

So migration isnt working either

Reset the old stick if that is the case.

Did you look at logs

reset the old stick, no change. logs are bare
