Missing Add-on menu item in HAOS 17.1

In a fresh installation with:
Core 2026.2.2, Supervisor 2026.02.2, Operating System 17.1 and Frontend 260128.6 The add-on menu item under Settings is missing and I can’t find it else where. How do I get this menu item?

In this version of HAOS, what was Add-ons is now called apps. Same functionality, same use, different name.

There’s been a lot of chatter about “why” that I can’t answer, but it was a cosmetic change for me

Paul thanks for your reply. I want to intergrate the Tuya local. Under ’ Home Assistant Community Apps’ many apps are listed. Not the Tuyalocal. So i assume this has to be added first. I’m new to HA integration. How do I add the Tuya local?

I’m only about 2 months in to my HA journey. After that amount of time, I think I can see the bottom of the pool, but still not quite there yet.:rofl:

I just looked on my setup. If you go to Settings, Devices and Services and then look at the bottom right is Add Integration… Press that and type Tuya, select it,

It appears that Tuya is a standard, supported integration. That’s a good thing. I don’t know what happens next as I don’t know Tuya, either HA will go off and try to discover those devices, or it will have you log in, depends on the actual platform and how Tuya works.

I don’t use Tuya but I’m pretty certain that “Local Tuya” is an integration, not an add-on (now called App). And I’m pretty sure it is a custom integration not built-in.

So you need to install it via HACS - Home Assistant Community Store (which is for integrations not Apps) or manually.

Hi, HACS is new for me. Where can I find info on how HACS works. Is HACS in one of menu’s of HA?

HACS is not on my bingo card, at least yet. But i just happened to run across this thread which discusses it exactly. Take a look, I think what you want is in there

HAOS installs have Apps. Container Installs do not have apps, you build your own Docker containers to run stuff instead.
Add-ons are no longer called Add-ons, they are called Apps, so look for Apps in your HAOS Supervisor window.
HACS does not have Apps nor Add-ons at all. It has these:

HACS doesn’t have Apps, but it uses an App to help install it on HAOS.

(Trust me, it’s like that. Don’t ask me why. And it’s all subject to change, BTW)

This doesn’t work. As shown above the installation “my link” gives an “invalid parameters given” error.

OK I think I’ve found a workaround. Install SSH & Terminal.
Run the following script in terminal
wget -O - https://get.hacs.xyz | bash -
