Moes BHT 002 temperature reading

Hi

I have seen this device is quite problematic when reading the air temperature, as it gets overheated and provides incorrect readings

Without using an external sensor, how would you solve this? maybe using the readings from the internal sensor which is under the floor? Any guide on how to configure the right values etc?

Thanks

I had one of these for years and then it died 4 months ago.

The way I considered using it was to set up 2 switches in configuration. Yaml that turned the heating to max and min. Then used them in a generic thermostat to turn heating on and off depending if needed to heat or not.
…
Its HA so there is many way to do it.

Yep, the question is the “do I need heat?” If I want the temp set to 20, the real temperature is 19, but because of the internal Heat, the reading is 21, it will switch off when should still be heating

The question is how to make accurate readings, not how to implement it
In any case I’m curious to hear about your experience with it. Would you recommend it, specially after commenting it died some months ago?

Thanks

Its just a relay that turns on or off. It should not make difference if ser to 5 or 30c as long as HA doesnt crash while its at 30c and you are out of town for weeks. Replaced it with sonoff mini r2 running tasmota. I HAVE A RULE switch turns offnif on for 2 hrs as fail safe. Also got fed up with light coming on when it called for heat in the dark mornings.

Old device was 6 years old.
