Monitor HVAC by sending thermostat and temp history to ChatGPT

I wish to send HVAC performance data to ChatGPT and have it compute efficiency as well as spot trends and problems.

I can do this manually by selecting the thermostat and vent temp sensor to display:

I can then click the three dots in the upper right corner, download this data and then paste into ChatGPT full client with the appropriate prompt and I get the expected response.

Now, how do I automate this in HA? I can’t seem to find a way to automate moving the appropriate history into the “OpenAI:Generate Content” prompt.

Separately, I’d also like to feed the entire Home Assistant Log into similar analysis to produce a list of devices which might have failing batteries that should be replaced.

I hope you can see where I’m going here.

My efforts so far have run up against complexity (adding sensors that I don’t think I need) and limits in the amount of log files that can be passed into the prompt.

Any help would be appreciated.

…Mike

I’m using ChatGPT a lot and it states that it can’t directly access HA. I was trying to the do the same for PV, Battery, and Inverter setup.

Why would you want to give all your data to a cloud entity like that to do whatever they want with it? That’s nuts. It’s like running naked in the street because you don’t want to bother doing laundry.

Get a little gaming PC from EBay or a neighbor and run Olama on it at least to keep your data local.
