That pretty much sums it up. This is one of the monoprice open/close door sensors. I paired about 8 of them consecutively one night. 4 of them were identified correctly and have all the functions listed int he node_id section.
the others simply have the main node_id e.g. binary_sensor.sensor_X_X.
In these cases can i edit the node via OpenZwave or should i remove and add each back one-by-one?
If its the former, does anybody have any docs they can point me to? Alternatively is there a config i can edit in OpenZwave to get them all to re-register the functions in OZW?
I don’t have any of the door sensors, but I found that with my Monoprice motion sensors, I had to leave the cover off until the Open Zwave control panel had interrogated them to figure out exactly what kind of device they were. Keeping the cover off kept them awake.
Maybe try opening OZWCP and refreshing with the covers off?
Just an update, i was totally forgetting to save my config file in the openzwave folder and then move it to the homeassistant configuration folder. This helped the process along in getting these items recognized by HASS.
Albeit not for all but i will just continue messing with them until they come up using this method. Thank you !
