Motion based light or switch blueprint that survives HA restarts

I tinker with my HA setup a lot, which means frequent restarts, which kept leaving lights stuck on for hours. Turns out most motion-lighting blueprints use a delay: sitting inside the automation to handle the “off after N minutes of no motion” part. Restart HA mid-delay, and that pending turn-off is just gone. No recovery.

This version swaps that out for a timer helper. The automation never sits suspended waiting on anything; it just reacts instantly to motion-on, motion-off, and timer-finished. The timer (with restore enabled) is what survives the restart. Been running across 4 areas of my house for a while now, holds up great.

Also supports illuminance cutoff, on/off blockers, time windows, and a separate “off” entity for script/scene setups.

Forked in spirit from freakshock88’s motion_illuminance_activated_entity blueprint Same idea, rebuilt around the timer helper.

Hello catboxer,
Thanks for contributing to the community with a new Blueprint.
I have a suggestion for you. Many people who are not familiar with directory structures will have problems installing this without the Home Assistant MY tools.
Adding a MY link for this Blueprint to your top post would help them a lot.
Here is the link to make that.
