I’m confused about the purpose of this project.
Is one of the benefits that you don’t need to use a Home Hub to be able to detect motion etc? If so that’s awesome and i’d reccomend making that clearer in your project and your announcement here.
I use a Home hub with Reolink Video Doorbell and 2 Argus 4 Pro’s.
Would this save me any power during winter months when my Reolink solar panels don’t keep the batteries topped up at 100% or is this mainly focused on people who use the reolink app directly linked to the devices without Home Hub in the middle handle all traffic?
There is an issue currently in the battery powered cameras that do not use a hub, that they do not show motion detected (vehicle, person, pet etc., or any motion at all) in HA. This will be remedied in firmware they are receiving in 2-3 months. I did not want to wait!
