Hi people, im struggling to do something that feel should be easy.

The other day one of my cars got locked in a room that dont bormally get used. So for maybe 8hours the cat was in the room.

I have put a Everything Presence Lite sensor in the room on the floor inline with the door and a contact sensor on the door.

Now im trying to make it so when the door is closed and there is something in there a announcement comes through on a alexa device. But this is where im stuggling. When you close the door the presence sensor wil still “see” you for x amont time and that triggers it.

I have tried to wait for 5mins and it dont seem to work. I even asked chatgtp and two differnt ways and they dont work

Can anyone help or if you got a similar automation, that would be awesome

Just a thinking out loud here.

Trigger on the door closing, then action wait for a time to pass, say 5 mins, then action choose and condition choices on whether there or is anything detected in the room or not.

Problem is if the cat is not detected after those 5 mins, you may need another automation to detect presence when door is closed, which you can turn on after the 5 mins has passed in the first automation.
