I have ring alarm system at home and hope to add more motion sensors to the system. Does anyone know if there is cheaper motion sensor that can be added to ring alarm system other than those from ring (expensive at $30 each).
I have connected ring alarm to HA, I can use those motion sensors for automation purpose.

I don’t know much about Ring, but I strongly assume that Ring doesn’t allow third party devices to be integrated into their system, otherwise no one would buy their sensors 
Also this would be a question for Ring and not for the home assistant forum.
What I can imagine is adding motion sensors to home assistant and then trigger the alarm (if this is possible with Ring) from home assistant when motion is detected.

yes I am kind of using the other way just trying to use Ring system as hub to connect motion sensors for my automation purpose. Currently I don’t have any zigbee or zwave devices.
I don’t think this will work with Ring. I sugfest, decide whether you want ZigBee or Z-Wave or both and then buy a stick that is supported like ConBee for ZigBee or Aeotec for Z-Wave and connect your sensor through this stick
I checked this https://shop.ring.com/collections/smart-home-automation which ring allowed for third party devices but no motion sensors listed. I think you are right, I need to pick another stick for zigbee and/or z-wave.
