But I though you need the DC1545x for the wifi to connect to. The bridge you mentioned are all wifi. While the motor and remote are 433MHz.
Did you got any of these boxes with the blind motor?
The older motors worked with a wifi connected bridge that transmitted 433mhz signals. However, Dooya changed the rolling code algorithm and it is no longer compatible.
The dooya wifi module is different. my sample blind had a dc1545v. You connect it to the blind and then pair it to your wifi using the tuya app. You then use the tuya app to open/close the blind. Apparently my new blind motors do not have the cable to support the dc1545v.
I’m quite annoyed. I ordered a sample and decided I didn’t need wifi as I would just use the bond home as the controller which worked with the sample. Now I have blinds that don’t work with bond home, do not work with any dooya bridges and are not compatible with the wifi modules.
Apparently dooya are making a new wifi bridge which will work with the new rolling code motors but it is not released yet. I’m not sure if it will be a software update to existing models or new hardware.
Ah now it makes sense. I am in the process of ordering and remember they offered me too the one which doesnt have the RS485 interface to connect the DC1545 hub. They are pure RF only.
TBH its such a mess, and I wont hold my breath for them to release a compatible remote. They all want to move to Tuya now and cash in 20% profit from they wifi compatible range. We will see less and less RF integration options.
I am getting NOVO dream blinds as well which doesnt even have Tuya or Wifi for their battery models, just a RF remote.
Then fans which are also on RF only for the design the lady likes. Which Im sure will be with rolling codes.
I was thinking to hijack the remote control, and get ESPhome to control its buttons instead. This way I can integrate it regardless of the wifi or RF crap they would come with. And avoid buying overpriced useless hubs just to integrate to HA.
Ill keep posted here once I start working on that project. Maybe we can colab.
I just tested the DC1545R and I’m happy to report that all works smoothly with HA and let’s you set blind position etc.
So I guess no need to mess around with the tuya version ![]()
Amazing Rkor, mine are arriving soon and I’m looking forward to testing.
What are you uisng as a Zigbee setup to you HA?
Z2MQTT with SMLIGHT SLZB-06 ? Thats eems to be a popular choice.
z2mqtt with sonoff 3 stick
I’m curious to know how you went with flashing the local Tuya or Tuya local stuff mate
I ordered both the R and the V so I want to flash local stuff
Edit: just tried the tuya module through the Tuya app. I can open and close, but can’t seem to set manual position?
Confirmed.
Mine is a totally new setup as I had no zigbee already.
So bought a SLZB-MRW10.
Had MQTT installed in HASS already but not configured.
Installed Zigbee2MQTT.
In Zigbee2MQTT, click permit join.
On the Dooya DC1545R, press the button for about 5ish seconds so it flashes fast (the green light is also a button)
It immediatley showed up in Zigbee2MQTT and was controllable in there as well as in HASS.
Position setting works fine too. Response is basically instant. No need for Tuya App.
Now I need to buy a full set of DC1545R’s which will be a fair bit of money as we have ~30 blinds. That will save me trying to fab up stuff to drive it serially although that is a stretch goal as in future I want to be able to power off the motors when not in use to save that idle power.
I would say that the DC1545R shows up as a router; I understand that is the name for a ‘mesh extender’ so all the DC1545Rs that will be around the house should ensure good Zigbee coverage.
I didn’t play any further as all my stuff is sitting out there due to an upcoming house move (the blind isn’t installed, it’s sitting there on a box).
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback @wokwon
