Can some one help I have read the docs but can’t find the answer one way or the other. I have motioneye installed on a pi 3b as a HA addon and I was wondering if I can use an external HD for recording the streams of a couple of cameras. ?

i am also searching for way to stop motioneye to record any cameras , as i am also running motioneye on my rpi3b+ and it consumes the whole memory within a short duration ,
is there any way to change the recording location or totally stop recording .
I dont use addon. Is it like normal motioneye?
Normal Motioneye allow you change path within camera settings>>file storage. You could possibly symlink external drive and write to that.
If storage location cannot change maybe sript that scp "/pi/recording.ext" "usernameonRemoteserver@RemoteServerIP:/location/recording.ext" then delete file on pi can work. This method you could not review file in motioneye but can archive
