Is there any method of copying or moving Z2M setup to a proxmox hosted Z2M integration.
I plan on moving my Home assistant to a Proxmox server and have Zigbee & Mqtt as individual hosts along with Homeassistant and frigate, and several other hosts.
However my current setup is on a miniPC as bare metal install, HAOS
I know how to move the zigbee settings between a new dongle, as I did this when moving from a USB version ot LAN based SLZB-06. however I don’t see how to move this information to a hosted VM (Z2M hosted on proxmox)
Not so keen to have to re-integrate all the devices as they are all over the house and is messy to do.
Tried searching but only find the method I used for on same device move in Homeassistant OS
Any Ideas???
Are you migrating from hardware to hardware or reinstalling the miniPC with Proxmox? If you have two servers it’s easy enough to test I guess (never tried), just copy the contents of /zigbee2mqtt from the old to the new location.
May I ask what you aim to achieve by setting up Z2M standalone? It would probably be easier to do a backup of your current HA, set up a new vm and import the backup there (Z2M included).
Hi Thanks the quick response
I have 2 machines and the old one is running slow so replaced with new one which has more ram (64GB) and hard disk space (SSD 2Tb) so been playing with proxmox and had all the hosts working but not all at the same time (Yet)
I want to have Z2M working if homeassistant goes off line for any reason and the others are for stability and frigate needs extra HDD for storage which I can give through proxmox plus I can experiment with other services on proxmox
I dont see where to put the Zigbee data in the hosted version, on the old pc I can copy in easy
Fair enough, then I would try copying the files over from the old to the new Z2M.
not sure where the location is on the hosted version
I will load it up again and see if is the same process
Did you deploy using a helper script? The location is listed there in that case.
Ah. I did nor see that one. was following some online videos.
Stupid me should have looked at those. Thanks will give this a try tomorrow
