Moving from CC2531 to Conbee ZHA advice

I have a CC2531 Zigbee to Mqtt dongle set up on my Homeassistant OS running on a Nuc as a VM.
I have been disappointed with its performance particularly coverage and following advice have now purchased and installed a Conbee 2 on my NUC using ZHA integration.
At this stage I have merely unplugged the CC2531.
My question: Is it necessary to uninstall the CC2531 and remove associated bound devices before binding those same devices. I ask because binding is seldom straightforward and I want to ensure I am starting from the right point.

You have to uninstall the CC2531. Unbinding is not necessary, just re-pair all your devices.

Ok do I have to uninstall the USB device from my VM? And if so Is it just a matter of remove in proxmoxThanks

Just remove the ZHA integration, that will uninstall the CC2531. Then add it again with the Conbee2.

Though not necessary, it eases the process of re-pairing as you don’t have to factory reset every device.
