I configured a Mosquitto Bridge to send out everything going on in my local server to a HiveMQ Broker. HiveMQ is great (because it’s free) but offers no access to logs etc., so it’s really hard to find out why nothing arrives there. So I guess my local Mosquitto connects. I see log entries like the following all few minutes:
2025-10-29 21:57:50: Connecting bridge HiveMQ (xxx.s1.eu.hivemq.cloud:8883)
2025-10-29 21:57:50: Client local.core-mosquitto.HiveMQ closed its connection.
Is this normal?
So why does no data appear in HiveMQ?
This is my configuration file:
connection HiveMQ
remote_username xxx
remote_password xxx
address xxx.s1.eu.hivemq.cloud:8883
topic # in 0
topic # out 0
In the Mosquitto Logs it looks like that the bridge is configured, it’s reporting that the file was loaded.
Any help would be very much appreciated
