Multiple Apple Thread Networks showing up – is this normal?

Hi folks,

I’m not sure if this is a technical issue or just a misunderstanding on my side…

I’d like to buy my first Thread device and was planning to use the Apple Thread network via HA.
However, it looks like my 3 Apple devices are creating 2 separate Thread networks that don’t seem to be synchronized.

Here’s the screenshot that makes me think so:

I followed ChatGPT’s instructions to remove/reset the devices from my HomeKit home and add them back again, but they always end up creating the same two networks with the same IDs.

So my questions are:

  • Is this normal?
  • Are these really separate networks?
  • Is this an actual problem?
  • Any tips on what to do if it is a problem?

Till + Toni are HomePod Minis, Heimkino is a recent Apple TV 4K.

Thanks, Sebastian

Seems like the Apple TV has that behaviour when connected through Ethernet instead of WiFi.

Oh yes - the apple tv indeed is connected with cable…

will try that - THANK YOU!

My solution was weird: I created a new VLAN exclusive to my HomePods and Apple TVs, then I connected the devices again. I make no idea what happened haha.
