Multiple servers confusion

Background … I have had the Companion app on my Samsung for over a year but only using with wifi at home.

I decided to try the free trial of Nabu Casa - looking forward to accessing my instance remotely.

In the app, if I go to Settings > Companion app > Servers & devices … I now see two servers (shown below):

#1 I believe is my original setup as it has HA URL and my Home network ssid

#2 is new … it has HA URL pointing to the new nabu casa and Home network says ‘Not set’.

Is this expected? Should I have these two servers now. #1 for when I’m within my wifi range and #2 for remote? Does the app toggle between the two automatically or do I need to manually switch servers? I am so confused and there doesn’t seem to be any clear documentation (or at least I couldn’t find any). Appreciate any tips/insights. TIA

You should just have one server with the HA URL setup for Nabu Casa. Sounds like you had your internal connection URL there, which is why it setup a second server.

Below is the server content of the original setup. The internal connection URL was not set.

Exactly. Move the HA URL to the internal connection URL, since it’s the connection you use when you’re on your WiFi. The HA URL should then be your Nabu Casa URL.

Ah! I think I get it now. Below is the server content of the nabu casa setup. So I should setup Home network with my wifi then setup Internal connection URL with the IP address of my HA instance (ie. http://123.456.79.00:8123/)?

Perhaps I was getting confused thinking that the Settings > System > Network settings on my HA device should be sent to my mobile but I guess they’re independant of each other? Hope I phrased that right.

Yep, that should do it!
