I have the unfortunate situation, that my wife does not agree on the perfect device eco system, therefore we have Android and Apple devices mixed.
This leads to the problem when trying to combine multiple statistics (like storage space) into a mixed chart, because the unit of measurement (“%” vs, “% available”) as well as the state class (measurement or none) differ. I can’t long term statistic the Apple measurements,
So I am curious, which of both is correct and how can I adjust them?
BTW I would prefer to have the statistic recorded, so a measurement device class is better for me, especially since you CAN exclude entities from recorder, but it seems not possible to include them if not measured?
Available: 23,23 GB
Available (Important): 49,30 GB
Available (Opportunistic): 31,12 GB
Total: 127,87 GB
unit_of_measurement: "% available"
icon: mdi:database
friendly_name: iPhone Storage
state_class: measurement
Free internal storage: 1GB
Total internal storage: 108GB
unit_of_measurement: "%"
icon: mdi:harddisk
friendly_name: S20 Internal storage
I won’t even complain about the different icons or precision.
Btw why is there no device class for storage measurement with some unified recommendations? While I do think % available is helpful, it does not seem to be inline with other classes
